Oooooh I love me a good retro look. Growing up I was always drawn to fashion from decades past. Anything with vintage flair or that has and old-school feeling, I just adore. The one thing I don’t like about actual vintage items is the fabric. I have been spoiled by soft, stretchy, and breathable technical fabrics.
Enter Street & Saddle – a Vancouver-based equestrian life & style brand that totally calls to my style. Designer Katelyn Woodburn actually MAKES these clothes you guys. Herself. And therefore you can make customizations/alterations, starting at $10. Her choices of fabrics and patterns are the perfect mix of modern & throwback vintage.
This shirt is perfectly named “The Horse Camp Shirt” and it makes me feel nostalgic and happy every time I wear it. The mustard yellow and floral print can me dressed up or down, english or western. The raglan cut really helps here – it makes it easy to move in and eliminates any weird shoulder-fit issues, which I tend to have a lot of when it comes to tailored shirts.

For the barn, I love this shirt with my black/tan patch Elation breeches – it adds to the vintage feel and balances out the colors. I accessorized with a bolo tie from Sweet Tea Salvage and a classic Tailored Sportsman belt (similar).

For my street look I rolled the sleeves up and tied the bottom, and paired it with button-front high-waisted Madewell jeans (similar). A felt floppy hat just felt right!
THE PERFECT FLORAL POLO – currently sold out, similar
This polo is made from my all-time favorite fabric…BAMBOO ????I wish everything were made from this magically cool-to-the-touch, ultra-soft, stretchy, lightweight material. It’s stretchy and fitted, but not clingy. The raglan sleeves are really flattering on my broad shoulders, a huge plus for me.

For my barn look, I tucked this polo into a pair of navy Struck breeches and an Ellany Equestrian belt. This is a stellar summer outfit in terms of both comfort and style!

For everyday wear, I love pairing this top with high-waisted kick-flares or wide leg jeans. I added this belt by Blake Goods and my Atelier CG bracelet – I love me some caramel brown leather accents!
I highly recommend anything from Street & Saddle – their fabrics are beautiful and they are keeping the lost art of bespoke, tailored clothing alive. Considering every piece is hand-made, Street & Saddle comes at a seriously great price. Katelyn’s designs are fresh yet timeless…I’ve got my eye on you, Horse Power Jacket!
